Coach Glasgow began teaching math at Red Bay in the fall of 1989, along with assisting coaching
of football, basketball, softball, track, and tennis. He began teaching 5th, 6th, and 7th grade math. He is currently
teaching Geometry and Algebra for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders.
He served as assistant football coach to Bill Smith in 89, 90,91,
with the highlight of Red Bay reaching the AHSAA football semi-finals in 1990 and completing two regular season records of
10-0 in 1989 and 1991. He served under Coach John Fulkerson during 1992, and served under current assistant coach Greg Cash
in 1993, 94, 95,96, finishing 1995 with a 10-2 record. He served under present head coach Dale Jeffreys in 1997.
Glasgow served as assistant varsity basketball coach under Max South from 89 til 1995, highlighted with the 1995 team
the regional runnerup (Final 8) and 25-6 record.
He served as Head Boys Track Coach from 89 til 98 winning several county track championships.
Glasgow has served as Tennis Coach beginning in 1990 with the first tennis teams competing in the
AHSAA. He has led
16 teams to the state tournament in Mobile.
Coach Glasgow began the RBHS Tennis Program in 1990. Red Bay High School
Tennis Courts were completed on the RBHS Campus in 2000, with assistance from the City of Red Bay and State Senator
Roger Bedford. Mr. Ken Stovall assisted with the tennis team for 7 years until his retirement in 2002.
Coach G has led the following Red Bay teams to the State Tournament:

2006 Boys, 2007 Boys, 2008 Boys
Red Bay has won 6 sectional championships with the most recent , the 2006,2007,
and 2008 RBHS Boys Team.
Red Bay's two highest finishes at State has been: 7th place for the boys
in 1997 finishing with 12 points and 5th place in 2008 with 24 points.
Red Bay's girls doubles team of Greta Fabianke-Kim Hester were semi-finalist at State
at #1 doubles in 1999.
Coach Glasgow played college tennis at the University of North Alabama in 1977 and 1978.
He played under graduate assistants, Steve Hardgraves and Chuck Wright with the Head Coach Mr. Bill Jones. Coach
Glasgow has taught tennis for the City of Russellville and Twin Pines Country Club. He has won several local tennis
tournaments and also won usta sanctioned tournaments. He began playing tennis at age 13 and played local and usta tournaments
in his junior year in high school. Coach Glasgow has won several tennis tournaments in Russellville, Sheffield,
Tuscumbia, Florence, and Muscle Shoals.
He received tennis instruction from several local pros and also attended
Dennis Van der Meer Tennis University in Miami in 1975 and began teaching tennis at age 19.
Coach Glasgow teamed with Mickey Brackin, Town Creek, Alabama for a doubles record of
15-3 at UNA in 1978 reaching the Gulf South Conference semi-finals losing to the eventual champion, Southeastern Louisianna.
He played # 4 and # 5 singles at UNA and teamed with Brackin at # 3 doubles.
Coach Glasgow played athletics at Russelllville High School lettering in football
4 years; finishing with several touchdowns and 820 yds rushing his senior year, highlighted by rushing
for 246 yards in a game against Cherokee in 72; basketball, 1 year ; and baseball 4 years. He
was a member of the Drama Club, Chess Club, Student Council, R Club, and was an All-TVC honoree in football, and played in
the East-West All-Star game in Sheffield.
Coach G has two children, Kyle, age 22 and Shayna, age 20. Kyle graduated
from Red Bay High School in 2005 while Shayna graduated from Russellville High School in 2006. |
Coach Glasgow has also taught high school math at Brilliant, Central of Florence, and Muscle
Shoals while assisting in coaching football, basketball and baseball.
